As Matt’s family, we want to say thank you very much for all of your continued support of Matt and for helping him and us carry out his desire to make a difference through Rush For A Cause.

Matt is now doing great things at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO (yes, we miss him terribly, but are happy for him as he fulfills his dream) studying to be a future Leader and Officer of the Air Force. We are very proud of him. He is a young man of great character, leadership and is a good example of Service Before Self. He is now servicing our country….like so, so many other great young men and women. We ask that you keep him, and all those serving, in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you!

Matt is in Basic Training and we just, today, (7/22/11) learned of his address – first line of communication. We can’t wait to write him. If you are interested in sending him a card or a quick note of encouragement and support to he and his squadron, I know that he would love it – that would be a real surprise!

His address is:

Sharing some pictures from Matt’s new life at the Academy. As you can see, he’s loving it, working hard and making us proud!

Matt was nominated by his peers, interviewed and was selected as Deputy Commander. He is continuing his leadership. We are proud!

Here is a series of pics that were posted during Basic Military Training. Matt was participating in the final round of the push up competition.

here’s how it unfolded
131 pushups in 2 mins. Here’s the reaction of his good buddy who he beat out….
